On Tuesday December 11, we, Vancouver Save Article 9 and Peace Philosophy Centre would like to invite community members to join us in remembering the victims of Nanjing Massacre (December 1937-March 1938), in which hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians and POWs were massacred and tens of thousands of women and girls were raped by the Imperial Japanese Army troops that occupied Nanjing on December 13, 1937. We will watch film "Nanking" (directed by Bill Guttentag and Dan Sturman, produced by Ted Leonsis, 2007, 90 min), followed by a short reflection time using an artistic activity. Please note that the purpose of this event is to together remember the history and mourn the victims, and not to debate the history itself or to discuss the Nanjing Massacre Commemorative Day proposed by members of federal and provincial legislatures. The language of the evening will be English. Space is limited. RSVP to Article9Canada@gmail.com.
